Cessna 337 Skymaster

Primarily used as a camera platform for the Gyron 935 Plus and HiDef systems, the Cessna 337 Skymaster offers an alternative to airships and helicopters for sports event coverage. The 337 can maintain aloft for an entire event while a helicopter has to land to refuel. Capable of faster airspeeds the aircraft can reposition faster than a blimp preventing the possiblility of missing an important piece of action from a certain vantage point.

Mount Compatibility
Currently this particular Cessna 337 Skymaster is configured to take the Gyron 935 Plus and Gyron HiDef systems only. For other camera ship uses consult the owner of the aircraft, but it is doubtful that this aircraft can be used other than for the current video systems.

Important Considerations
  • The 337 is configured with a movable mount to allow the Gyron to be retracted for take-offs and landings. It is important that the operator remember to lock the system in it's upright position for airport operations.
  • Currently the cabin can accommodate only the camera operator and camera ship pilot during a mission.
