Pictorvision

The Wescam F100 series ball mount which is offered by Pictorvision (formerly the Wescam entertainment division) represents a significant update to their gyro-stabilizing film systems for the motion picture industry. Many improvements have been implemented including software enhancements and a "vehicle slave setting" which can be engaged by the operator to lock the mount on a specific framing. The system actively holds horizon instead of attempting a quick correction once off-level. The F100 Series also features "Rapid Erect" in the event the system is severely jolted off horizon. As for stability, the gyro spin rate has been doubled from earlier versions to 24,000 RPM with the system capable of flight at 12,000 RPM. The utilization of Panastar film magazines dramatically increase the maximum frame-rate achievable.
