Tyler Nose Mount

The Tyler Nose Mount IS A VERSATILE TOOL designed primarily for forward looking POV shots where visible horizon banking is desirable. Not a "fixed position" mount; tilt function is provided for compositional adjustments. The ergonomic operator's console features a color LCD monitor, T-stop adjustment, tilt paddle, camera run/stop switch and LCD digital readout. For ease of operation, a form-fit rubber viewing hood snaps onto the console surrounding the monitor. New to this version is the integration of Tyler's own speed/aperture computer system which can be engaged at the touch of a button. There are also PAL and HDTV compatibile consoles, but availability is limited. As a future upgrade, Tyler plans to integrate a rate gyro, engageable at the touch of a button when desired, to help counter helicopter pitch.

  • Specialty & Large Format Cameras including IMAX, Iwerks, Vista Vision
Not optimal from an operator's standpoint due to size and/or viewfinder configuration, but a necessary evil nonetheless. Practically all makes of Vista Vision, IMAX & Showscan have at one point been used, according to Tyler. Viewfinder issues can be addressed utilizing a video tap and small, camera-mounted LCD monitor. Allow extra set-up and balance time as these configurations are mainly customized for the occasion. Gross weight of the camera package and mount mandates a more powerful aircraft, especially when working 'hot & high.' Consider nothing less than an AStar, Squirrel, TwinStar, or TwinSquirrel.
